Strategic Proposal Manager

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Proposal Manager, based in Round Rock, TX, or Houston, TX. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for coordinating the technical and commercial aspects of proposals, including cross-Business Unit and multi–World Area pursuits. You will have the flexibility to work away from the office one day a week.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Independently develop proposal planning and scheduling details
+ Lead proposal teams comprised of Operations, Sales and Industry members to complete proposal on time
+ Collaborate on medium to high complexity proposal estimates and documents based on customer’s RFQ
+ Lead the development of proposals with or without subject matter experts
+ Be accountable for proposal assembly
+ Participate in process improvements
+ Prepare responses to technical and commercial clarifications, using internal technical resources as needed
+ Mentor other proposal resources in the development of proposals and following proposal process

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 10+ years of relevant experience
+ Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of tools: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
+ Effective people management and team leadership skills
+ Be able to coordinate more than one proposal effort simultaneously through the effective use of team resources
+ Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
**Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:**
+ BS in Engineering or Technical Subject area
+ Knowledge in process control and safety systems, applications, and interfaces
+ Knowledgeable in field instrumentation, metering, control and automated valves, and bus technologies
