Strategic Project Manager

Basic Function: 

The Strategic Project Manager is accountable for the successful development, execution and completion of multiple major projects achieving objectives to include deliverables, schedule, and coordination of multiple Cleaver Brooks initiatives.  Develop and manage the projects through the process from opportunity concept through start-up to ensure successful completion within established time and budget parameters.  This person will serve as the primary liaison to Senior Leadership.

Essential Duties/Skills: 

Manage a portfolio of complex projects that support the 5 Year Strategic Plan. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities from multiple sources and hierarchy. Full project life cycle ownership including: Prepare detailed project plans and estimates Responsibility for project scope, execution, change management, and success measures Manage outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, and dependencies Develop proposals, documentation, and presentations for multiple audiences, including project team, sponsors, executives Provide status updates to leadership on project deliverables, dependencies, issues, and decisions needed Drive solution and process design activities, including conducting technical and process design workshops with project teams and across Business Units. Understand challenges to design solutions that address people, process, technology, and data needs to achieve desired outcomes Work creatively and analytically in a collaborative environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. All other duties as assigned

Education:    Business or Technology related bachelor’s degree; project management certification preferred 

Experience:  Three or more years of project management experience.  Must come with a complete project execution toolkit, including analysis, scoping, requirements gathering, project execution, and change management.

Internal Contacts:  Regular(50%)  Normal shop and office contacts, personal and electronic, in the performance of design duties.

External Contacts:  Regular (50%)  Routine virtual or personal contact with other Cleaver Brooks sites as required. 

Travel: May require up to 10% travel.  Some international travel could be required.

Physical Skill and Effort:   Mostly an office environment, but occasional site visits and work requiring infrequent physical effort. 

Working Conditions and Hazards:   Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features.  Negligible/little or no exposure.
