We establish and maintain stakeholder relationships internally and externally. We manage our suppliers to best optimize our investments and supply base. This role will have significant support & visibility to the Category and Executive leadership. As a Procurement Specialist II, you will be responsible for: + Supporting the Category Manager in developing and implementing the Technology Division's strategy (demand, supply, SWOT, cost modeling). + Leading, coordinating and executing strategic sourcing activities (RFx's) in line with the category strategy + Strengthening supplier relationships, hosting QBR's, continue to optimize supply base proactively, negotiating contract terms with suppliers + Executing savings tracking activities and report realized savings on a continuous base + Partnering with internal stakeholders to meet their purchasing needs while prioritizing ROI, cost efficiency, and value + Developing market intelligence to support effective decision-making on alternate supplier base and effective sourcing strategies **Do what you love** To be successful in this role you will: + Have a High School / Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience + Have experience in strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier management in technology or services/consulting organization + Have proven experience in managing multi-region customers, suppliers diverse supplier base + Demonstrate concise verbal and written communication/articulation skills with ability to manage internal stakeholder relationship + Possess a strategic mindset; be a team-player and quick learner + Have ability to work independently and as part of a team + Be able to negotiate contracts and agreements with software, hardware and IT professional services suppliers **Work in a way that works for you** FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
