Your role and responsibilities

The Strategic Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies that maximize profitability for ABB while ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves analyzing market trends, evaluating competitors' pricing, and assessing internal cost structures to set competitive and profitable prices. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to align pricing strategies with overall business objectives.The ideal candidate would be able to work a hybrid schedule out of the Memphis, TN office.This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tDevelop and Implement Pricing Strategies: This involves creating comprehensive pricing strategies that are not only effective but also aligned with the overall business objectives. The pricing strategies should consider various factors such as cost structures, market demand, and competitive positioning. The specialist must analyze historical pricing data and customer feedback to develop pricing models that attract customers while ensuring profitability. Implementation requires careful monitoring and adjustment based on market response and sales performance.•\tStrategic Market Analysis: Conducting thorough market research is essential to understand the dynamics of the industry. This includes analyzing current market trends, evaluating competitor pricing strategies, and studying customer behavior and preferences. The specialist should gather data through surveys, focus groups, and industry reports to identify opportunities for pricing adjustments. This analysis helps in making informed decisions about pricing changes and identifying potential areas for growth.•\tMonitor Industry Trends: Staying updated on industry developments is crucial for maintaining a competitive edge. This involves regularly reviewing industry news, attending conferences, and networking with industry professionals. The specialist should analyze how changes in regulations, economic conditions, and technological advancements impact pricing strategies. By monitoring these trends, the specialist can proactively adjust pricing models to respond to market changes and capitalize on new opportunities.•\tOptimize Pricing Models: Optimization of pricing models involves analyzing existing pricing structures to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. This may include evaluating pricing tiers, discount structures, and promotional pricing. The specialist should use data analytics to assess the impact of different pricing strategies on sales and profitability. Continuous refinement of pricing models ensures that the company remains competitive while maximizing profit margins.•\tConduct Pricing Audits: Regular pricing audits are essential to assess the effectiveness of current pricing strategies. This process involves reviewing pricing structures, analyzing sales data, and comparing prices against competitors. The specialist should identify discrepancies, such as pricing inconsistencies or missed opportunities for price adjustments. Based on the findings, the specialist can make recommendations for improvements, ensuring that pricing remains competitive and aligned with market conditions.•\tSupport Bids and Proposals: Assists in developing pricing for bids and proposals, particularly for large contracts or strategic customers. This involves analyzing the cost structure, understanding customer requirements, and ensuring that the proposed pricing is competitive yet profitable. The specialist must collaborate with the sales team to craft compelling pricing proposals that highlight value while addressing customer needs. This support is critical in winning contracts and maintaining strong business relationships.•\tCollaboration with cross-functional teams: The Strategic Pricing Specialist must work closely with various departments, including marketing, sales, and finance, to ensure that pricing strategies are cohesive and support the company’s overall goals. This collaboration involves sharing insights from market analysis, aligning pricing with marketing campaigns, and ensuring that sales teams understand the pricing rationale. Effective communication across departments helps in creating a unified approach to pricing and enhances the overall effectiveness of pricing strategies.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of applicable experience. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
