Strategic Client Management “Money in Motion” - Associate

Morgan Stanley's Strategic Client Management (SCM) plays a pivotal role in driving Morgan Stanley’s Integrated Firm Strategy, a key strategic priority for the Firm. The team focuses on identifying opportunities to leverage relationships across Wealth Management (MSWM), Institutional Securities (ISG), and Investment Management (MSIM) to enhance client outcomes while driving revenue and asset growth. The role emphasizes accountability, innovation, and leveraging Morgan Stanley’s global resources to deliver tailored solutions for clients. The “Money in Motion” Associate will be responsible for supporting Strategic Client Management’s Directed Share Program (DSP), Integrated IPO Solutions, and Corporate Cash Management teams.  The responsibilities of these teams and this role align closely with the key Integrated Firm priority of tracking money in motion. The Associate will assist with DSP deal execution and management, cross-divisional collaboration, client engagement and strategic initiatives, and facilitate Corporate Cash Management business development.

Responsibilities:

Act as a liaison between financial advisors, investment bankers, and key internal teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment of DSP/Integrated IPO Solutions/Corporate Cash goals.

Facilitate cross-divisional collaboration and interface regularly with investment bankers, financial advisors, company management, and firm clients, in introducing firmwide capabilities

Prepare marketing materials and key metrics for client presentations

Maintain various pipelines, group metrics, DSP and Corporate Cash reporting databases and communications library/approval system

Assist with legal, audit and compliance requirements

Work directly with issuers on DSP administration and execution

Provide clients with DSP support and guidance during live transactions

Develop relationships and collaborate with key internal partners, e.g., technology, legal and compliance, service center, operations, etc.

Coordinate with WM Technology on DSP website support and functionality

Support DSP reinvestment efforts and initiatives

Analyze client and industry data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement; prepare reports and presentations for senior management

Closely track mergers & acquisitions and market issuance across equity, debt, and private markets for money in motion opportunities

Participate in Corporate Cash client meetings and assist with related follow-up projects and communications

Lead coordination with Corporate Cash teams across MSIM and MSWM

Assist with strategic initiatives and firm-wide strategy related to DSP and Corporate Cash businesses

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and 1-3 years related industry experience with a general understanding of Investment Banking services

Results orientated and high performer in fast-paced environment

Ability to work under pressure and manage tight timelines

Rigorous attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Team-oriented, with high level of administrative and interpersonal professionalism

Superior organizational, interpersonal and client service skills

Ability to think creatively and strategically

Proven success with multi-tasking and working on multiple projects simultaneously

Self-starter who will take initiative, learn quickly and work independently

Thrive in an evolving and dynamic team environment

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) proficiency

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $90,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
