The WM, IM, and U.S. Banks First Line Financial Crimes Risk Team (1L FCR) is embedded within the Firm’s business line. It is responsible for identifying, assessing, and escalating potential money laundering and reputational risk issues associated with higher risk client types. This team is considered the first line of defense and supports the onboarding, enhanced due diligence, and negative news processes for Morgan Stanley.

Position Summary: 

The team is seeking a candidate to provide end-to-end business management support through the analysis and reporting of financial and headcount data for the Wealth Management Financial Crimes Risk COO team. The associate will be working in a dynamic and data-driven environment focused on high quality, detailed operational reporting to senior stakeholders on the management of the 1L FCR team. The role will drive efficiencies within the 1L FCR COO Team, with a key focus on continuously optimizing reporting practices to support the organization’s mission and progress toward key initiatives.

Responsibilities:

·       Contributing to executive-level content, analysis, and presentation material for a broad audience inclusive of senior management, regulators, and WM field staff.

·       Executing and solving business problems through complex analysis of workforce related data.

·       Understanding the team’s operating model and translating it into actionable insights, using data to support management and regulatory stakeholders.

·       Ensuring appropriate management and maintenance of HR and Finance related information in the appropriate systems.

Because of the broad nature of the role, candidates must have:

·       The ability to manage multiple deadlines and initiatives simultaneously, often under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards and exceptional attention to detail.

·       Draft and maintain procedure documents.

Required Skills:

·   At least 3-5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry.

·   Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint for data analysis related tasks, including the use of advanced formulas, pivot tables and conditional formatting. Experience with macros is a plus.

·   Very strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

·   Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work that requires minimal review.

·   Strong organizational skills to ensure that all deliverables are appropriately tracked and prioritized, and reporting materials are appropriately documented and archived for future reference.

·   Confidence and comfort operating in high-paced and high-profile environments.

·   Demonstrable track record of handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

·   Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information.

·   Highly motivated, self-starter who can work autonomously and can independently take initiative.

·   Understanding of enterprise organizational and behavioral dynamics.

·   Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborating across large organizations.

·   Experience with Tableau or similar platform is a plus.

·   Bachelor’s degree required.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $95,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
