**Role Overview:**
Alameda Health System is hiring! The Strategic and Financial Planning Analyst supports the development and execution of an organization’s operational initiatives by conducting research, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to align business objectives, evaluate performance, and drive long-term growth. The analyst plays a key role in forecasting trends, assessing risks, preparing strategic plans to support decision-making, maintaining financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning using internal and external data sources.
**DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** : NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
+ Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning using internal and external data sources.
+ Retrieve and analyze financial data from enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and healthcare-specific platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner) to assess revenue, expenses, and profitability.
+ Utilize data systems to extract internal operational data (e.g., patient volumes, cost per procedure) and external market data (e.g., competitor pricing, payer trends) to inform strategic decisions.
+ Access and analyze strategic growth data from business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and market research platforms (e.g., IBISWorld, Bloomberg) to evaluate expansion opportunities and service line performance.
+ Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, integrating financial, market, and growth data to highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
+ Monitor operational expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities using data from financial and clinical systems, ensuring alignment with care quality standards.
+ Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to assess the financial impact of new programs, capital investments, or partnerships using integrated data insights.
+ Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines) in data retrieval and financial reporting processes.
+ Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to address budget deviations, leveraging data from multiple systems.
+ Collect and analyze market, industry, and internal data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
+ Assist in developing strategic plans, setting objectives, and defining key performance indicators (KPIs).
+ Create models to forecast business outcomes, evaluate scenarios, and support budgeting or investment decisions.
+ Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate insights to leadership and stakeholders.
+ Work with departments (e.g., finance, marketing, operations) to align strategies and ensure cohesive execution.
+ Monitor competitors and industry developments to inform strategic recommendations.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed.

**Qualifications:**
_Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying._
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field;
Required Experience: 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in healthcare (e.g., hospitals, clinics, or insurance).
Required Experience: Proficiency in retrieving and analyzing data from ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), healthcare platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Required Experience: Experience with market research platforms and external data sources for competitive and industry analysis.
Required Experience: Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, with the ability to integrate diverse datasets.
Required Experience: Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement models (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, value-based care) and regulatory compliance.
Required Experience: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Required Experience: Ability to communicate complex financial and market insights to non-financial stakeholders.
