AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY.

\r\n\r\nProvide design and technical consultation in stormwater drainage fields such as, road drainage design, stormwater drainage systems, culvert design, flood line determination, erosion protection, and water sensitive urban design. You will be responsible for investigation, preliminary and detail design stages as well as technical reports such as hydrological studies and stormwater master and management plans.\r\nDevelop and implement discipline specific technical practices, specifications, and procedures.\r\nYou may be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training, and feedback.\r\nYou will be expected to work independently within the drainage engineering space on small and large sized projects and being a key member of larger multidisciplinary project teams. This will include investigation, design, analysis and modelling, technical documentation, cost estimates, tender submissions, and project scheduling.\r\nYou will be responsible for engaging with clients and subconsultants during the planning and execution of projects, including meetings and presentations.\r\nProvide specialist technical advice to clients.\r\nComply with Company procedures and processes in terms of project registration and risk analysis.\r\nComply with Quality procedures by ensuring auditable trail of actions during full life cycle of project delivery process all in accordance with company Quality Management Procedures.\r\nComply with and embrace Health and Safety requirements in the workplace as well as on construction sites.\r\n\r\n

EDUCATION, LANGUAGE & QUALIFICATIONS

\r\n\r\nB.Eng, B Sc Eng or B.Tech degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience in stormwater drainage design.\r\nProfessional registration or working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be advantageous.\r\nPost-graduate qualification in Stormwater Engineering would be advantageous. B.Eng or B.Tech degree and relevant M.Eng.\r\n\r\n

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

\r\n\r\nMinimum 5 years of experience in stormwater drainage design is a requirement.\r\nExperience in managing large stormwater designs in multidisciplinary projects is required.\r\nExperience in hydrological studies, stormwater master and management plans and hydraulic design of stormwater structures/systems is required.\r\nExperience with one or more of the design software packages: Autodesk Civil3D, Civil Designer, HEC-RAS, SWMM.\r\nExperience in compilation of tender documentation, bill of quantities and cost estimates is required.\r\nAble to communicate effective both verbally and written.\r\nGood command of Microsoft Office package.\r\nGood presentation skills, ability to coach and motivate others.\r\nStrong interpersonal skills supporting collaborative working with colleagues.\r\nProblem-solving attitude with a high level of responsibility for assigned tasks and projects.\r\nDemonstrated leadership skills and ability to think strategically.\r\nDemonstrated competency in engineering specialty area, project management, professional development, client service and leadership.\r\nAbility to meet deadlines and commitments and holds team accountable for team deadlines.\r\nCommunicates clearly and effectively in one-on-one and in group settings.\r\nMust be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and have own transport.\r\n
