We’re currently seeking a Store Development Market Planner to join our Headquarters team!
Mister Car Wash is seeking a data-driven, strategic Store Development Market Planner to support our new unit expansion strategy across the U.S. This role will be responsible for conducting market research and analysis to guide real estate development decisions and help optimize location density for our target market. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in demographic, psychographic, and competitive data interpretation, and will have hands-on experience with platforms such as Placer.ai or similar location intelligence tools.
What You Will Do:
Partner with Real Estate and Development leadership to evaluate market opportunities and support the strategic pipeline of new store growth. Conduct in-depth trade area and market-level analyses using demographic, psychographic, and mobility data to determine store capacity and saturation points. Utilize Placer.ai and other data platforms to assess customer behavior patterns, traffic flow, and visit trends. Develop and maintain market scorecards and dashboards to prioritize expansion efforts across geographies. Provide clear, data-backed recommendations on market potential and assist with territory planning and portfolio optimization. Collaborate with GIS, analytics, and external consultants to ensure alignment on development strategy. Monitor macroeconomic, competitive, and real estate trends that may impact store performance or site selection. Support internal presentations with high-quality maps, charts, and summaries for leadership review.How You Will Shine:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Business, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in market planning, location strategy, or site analytics—experience in retail, QSR, or multi-unit expansion preferred. Proficiency with Placer.ai or similar location analytics platforms (e.g., Kalibrate, Buxton, SiteZeus). Strong grasp of demographic and psychographic data analysis. Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, ESRI) a plus. Excellent analytical, communication, and storytelling skills; able to translate data into actionable strategy. Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
