Summary of This RoleDesigns, develops, installs, configures, and maintains enterprise storage and switch infrastructure systems (e.g. standardized micro-code and firmware levels, etc.), as well as, install third-party software products to ensure reliability in accordance with user needs and technical specifications while meeting defined service level agreements. Recognizes and troubleshoots issues with storage, switch infrastructure, and assigned third-party software executing on vendor specific hardware (International Business Machines (IBM), Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), Brocade, EMC/Dell systems, etc.). Establish and document standards and procedures (including disaster recovery procedures) for management review. Communicates with and provides reporting and technical support to system users and clients.
What Part Will You Play?Assists with research through review of assigned aspects of enterprise storage system, firmware, vendor software product, and/or Independent Software Vendor's (ISV) product upgrade packages under general/moderate review by higher level Storage Administrator. Provides findings with supporting details to Lead for review and determination. Supports roll-outs and testing of upgrades and new product installs to various remote locations storage environments as directed. Develops roll-out schedules, with assistance. Serves as backup on vendor products or assigned ISV products. Begins to peer review others work for validation. May lead less complex projects. Begins to develop and interpret technical specifications.Modifies existing communications rules within native or third-party applications. Understands set up of storage and switch communication channels. Monitors storage and switch communications paths and pulls capacity reports for higher level review and assessment.Builds, configures dynamic pools, dynamic tiering, and present Logical Unit Numbers (LUN) to new Hosts. Maintains and monitors existing storage assigned to Hosts as directed by higher level Storage Administrator.Provides higher level Storage Administrators feedback on procedures to improve clarity, readability, and accuracy. Understands and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of disaster recovery techniques.Collects and reports data need by higher level Storage Administrators in capacity and resource planning and management.What Are We Looking For in This Role?Minimum Qualifications
