You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.
**How you will contribute**
You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

**Role Summary**
Operates high-speed, stick equipment to package candy that has been individually cut and wrapped in a continuous running environment within specified tolerances. Performs running adjustments to equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and output. Checks and verifies code dates, packaging material quality, and quality of cut and wrapped product being bagged. Has responsibility for ensuring that product meets quality requirements. Responsible for the automatic packaging of displays and cases.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Operates Halls GD 2001s/TF1’s and Oval Stick equipment in order to produce product within specified tolerances, using initiative, judgment and experience in order to maintain optimum efficiency of operation and quality of product.
+ Operates two GD 2001s plus a TF1 or 3 Oval Stick machines.
+ Assists with startup, shutdown and changeovers to ensure they take place efficiently and appropriately.
+ Responsible for the safe operation of equipment/work centre and achieving standard output requirements.
+ Responsible for product identification such as lot numbers and work order numbers.
+ Continually checks identification of bulk and finishing supplies to avoid mix-ups.
+ Changes inner wrap and outer wrap rolls and code date ribbons.
+ Responsible for changing code dates on machines.
+ Completes online inspection, checks and document quality of product at specified periods
+ Makes visual checks of product on in feed candy conveyor.
+ Clears product jams; makes minor adjustments to obtain efficient operation.
+ Responsible for cleaning machine, including transfer stations and other utensils.
+ Maintains order and cleanliness of work area.
+ Operates equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Formula and Process Instructions and IL6S concepts.
+ Provides relief for breaks as required (i.e. as a Relief Operator or a Case packer).
+ Effectively participates in natural work group activities through effective communications and overall group performance.
+ Cross-trains on other packaging equipment
+ Effectively participates in group activities through effective communications and overall group performance.
+ Engage in IL6S activities including Daily Management Systems, pillar membership, work process ownership and AM activities
**Education / Experience / Training Required:**
+ Work Keys scores for Grade 5 Position
+ Ability to learn and apply additional training such as, IL6S concepts and Quality Suites.
+ Ability to cross trained on another bagging and twist machines
**Skill-sets**
+ Must have mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and perform running adjustments to equipment/product to ensure optimum quality and output.
+ Must be able to use a pump truck
+ Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
+ Ability to complete batch paperwork and reference variance reports.
+ Must be flexible to ensure continuous running – may be required to start up and shut down different machines throughout a shift
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 15 kilograms of inner wrap and outer wrap on a regular basis throughout shift.
