What will you do?Aid in the supervision and observation of performance for the dishwashers and porters under the direction of the Sous ChefEnsure food items and kitchen utensils are prepared according to Delaware North standards of quality, consistency and timelinesMaintain and enforce sanitation procedures and organization of work areaUtilizes and sanitizes kitchen equipment for the preparation of food items such as: knives, slicers, whisks, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctlyPerforms opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelinesEnsures workstation and equipment is clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stockedMeet all health department standards for safe food handling and operate equipment safely determined by position and OSHA regulations
More about youMust be at least 18 years oldMinimum of 6 months- 1-years' previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position preferredHigh school education is desired; participation/enrollment in culinary program preferredFamiliarity and experience with knife handling preferred
Physical requirementsManual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquidsAbility to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to handle or operate dangerous kitchen equipmentAbility to move rapidly and coordinate multiple ordersStanding and walking for entire length of shift, frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squattingPushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms
