Steward
Job Summary
The Steward plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and hygiene of all kitchen and back-of-house areas. This position supports the culinary and service teams by ensuring all equipment, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen tools are clean, sanitized, and properly stored. The Steward also assists with waste disposal, deep cleaning, and basic kitchen support tasks. The role requires attention to detail, commitment to food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a diverse team in a high-volume luxury resort environment.
Principal Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Cleaning & Sanitation – 50%
Washes and sanitizes pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment according to established standards.
Organization & Storage – 20%
Sorts, stores, and restocks cleaned items in designated locations to maintain an orderly kitchen environment.
Waste Management – 10%
Handles garbage disposal, recycling, and proper separation of waste in compliance with resort and environmental policies.
Deep Cleaning – 10%
Performs scheduled cleaning of kitchen equipment, walls, floors, and storage areas to ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.
Supportive Assistance – 10%
Assists chefs with basic tasks, such as transporting goods, preparing workstations, and supplying clean equipment during service.
Supportive Functions
Assists in receiving deliveries and organizing storerooms as required.Participates in cleaning checklists and daily hygiene inspections.Supports special event setups and breakdowns as needed.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods in a warm and humid environment.Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 kg.Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and frequent bending or reaching.Other Duties
Participates in regular training on safety, hygiene, and resort procedures.Performs additional duties as assigned by the Stewarding Supervisor or Executive Chef.Safety Requirements

All employees are expected to maintain high standards of personal hygiene and a professional appearance. Uniforms will be provided and must be worn as per resort policy.
Working Hours & Days Off
This position requires a minimum of 45 working hours per week, with two days off. Flexibility is essential to support rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
