Here is what you will be doing
+ Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectives, and c ollaborate with teams to determine rigging needs for operations
+ Ensure all rigging and stevedore equipment is safe, secure, and ready for operations, that all serviced equipment and spreaders adhere to safety regulations and standards, s et up and maintain rigging equipment for various projects, Inspect rigging equipment according to a maintenance schedule to ensure it is in good working condition
+ Perform routine maintenance and inspections on stevedore equipment
+ Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize disruptions in cargo handling operations, and a ssist in terminal operations as needed.
+ Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections, including parts replacement and maintenance schedules, and t est and inspect completed work to assure proper performance and timely completion.
+ Communicate with supervisor and/or manager daily, occasionally work in areas outside of your normal duties, when instructed by a supervisor
Requirements of a Successful Equipment Operator/Stevedore
+ Rigging certification preferred
+ Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card, have a Valid Driver’s License
+ High School Diploma or GED, B e able to read, write and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions
+ Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and
+ Equipment certifications are a plus
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role
+ Ability to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements, to lift 50+ pounds, to stand/walk for long periods of time.
+ Have dexterity, good eye sight, agility and balance
