Sterilization Technician
Job Title: Sterilization Technician
Job Description

The role involves receiving, sorting, cleaning, and decontaminating soiled reusable instruments, equipment, and materials following manufacturer’s instructions. The technician will manually record items and materials received in department logs and operate cleaning and decontamination equipment such as automatic washers, endoscope reprocessors, cart washers, and pasteurizers.

ResponsibilitiesReceive, sort, and clean soiled reusable instruments, equipment, and materials.Decontaminate instruments following manufacturer’s instructions.Manually record items and materials received in department logs.Load, operate, and empty cleaning and decontamination equipment including automatic washers, endoscope reprocessors, cart washers, and pasteurizers.Essential SkillsProficient in sterile processing and sterilization techniques.Knowledge of aseptic technique.Experience with cleaning and decontamination processes.Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) and Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), or must obtain CER within one year of being hired.Minimum of three years experience in Sterile Processing/Central Processing.Strong knowledge of instrumentation and power surgical instruments.Experience with endoscopes and surgical instrumentation.Additional Skills & QualificationsA high school degree or GED equivalent.Work Environment

The position is based in a laboratory cleaning environment where equipment is sterilized daily. The work involves utilizing various technologies and equipment necessary for sterilization processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
