Department: LPH Sterile Process
FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Flex
Pay: $22.80 - $29.64 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of Sterile Processing Technicians.
Responsibilities:
+ Collaborates with department leaders and staff to assess learning needs and competencies of Sterile Processing staff.
+ Develops, coordinates and implements competencies for new hire orientation.
+ Assesses and documents the progress of new hires throughout orientation. Provides remediation if necessary.
+ Develops, coordinates and implements required competencies, resources and continuing education for Sterile Processing staff.
+ Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
+ Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
+ Required Licensure/Certification: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) through CBSPD within 1 year. Preferred: CRCST at hire for those with direct sterile processing experience.
+ Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing or as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room.
