GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs various tasks related to movement of supplies, instruments, equipment and case carts, equipment cleaning, stocking operating rooms and sterile processing areas. Ensures that technicians have the necessary supplies and time to perform sterile processing work. Retrieves soiled instruments, equipment, and/or carts from clinical departments at regular intervals, following appropriate standards. Distributes and inventories supplies at regular intervals, following appropriate standards to the operating room (OR) and within the Sterile Processing Department. Answers phones and assists callers in obtaining needed supplies and/or instruments. Pulls instruments and delivers case carts to OR or L&D. Unloads cart washers and dries items prior to being placed on carts for assembly. Moves equipment and carts to maintain workflow and to clear traffic paths.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
