Steering Robustness/Quality Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Engineer for a critical role responsible for the global quality and warranty performance of all upper steering components at Ford. This includes steering columns, I-shafts, Dash Seals, and Shift Lever assemblies. The successful candidate will be a key driver in ensuring product reliability and resolving field issues worldwide.

You'll have...

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive product engineering.

Even better, you may have...

Proven ability to lead complex root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts (e.g., 8D, 5 Why). Ability to develop and implement effective corrective actions. Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, including working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

In this position...

Lead global quality and reliability initiatives for assigned upper steering components. Manage and continuously improve the warranty performance of steering columns, I-shafts, Dash Seals, and Shift Lever assemblies across all global programs.
Drive supplier recovery efforts related to quality and warranty incidents.

What you'll do...

Lead and execute the warranty part teardown and analysis process. Conduct thorough root cause analysis (RCA) for customer field claims and concerns. Develop, implement, and track the effectiveness of interim and permanent corrective actions (ICAs/PCAs) to address identified issues. Serve as the primary technical lead for resolving global customer field claims and concerns related to upper steering systems.
