British American Tobacco Romania has an exciting opportunity for aStatutory &Tax Manager in Bucharest

The role covers responsibilities in the Planning & Reporting and Tax area of the legal entity. In addition, it is focused on further developing the Statutory process to preserve consistency and ensure compliance with the reporting guidelines.

Fixed term opportunity for 1 year.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Manages the monthly closing and reporting process for group reporting purposes. Responsible to produce reliable and accurate financial statements reconciled based on the local accounting systemReviews monthly tax returns to be submitted to the tax authorities (mainly VAT returns monthly, CIT returns quarterly, WHT return annually, Financial Statements for half year and year end) for GBS entities. Coordinates month end closure activities for GBS Romanian entities, by leading month-end accounting activities such as tax journal entries for both GBS entities.Prepares a yearly reconciliation between statutory reporting and Group (IFRS) reporting explaining and identifying the differences between the two ledgersCoordinates the BPC input for Balance sheet and other forms in line with BAT Group requirements and assists in the Cash Flow preparation and submission and provides explanations as may be required; reviews and updates transfer pricing file prepared by group central tax teamsManages the statutory audit relationship with External Auditors on behalf of GBS Romanian entities and interactions with fiscal authorities and local state bodies. Ensures all SOX control are performed on a regular basis in line with control frequency requirements and enough evidence is retainedEnsures the robust control environment of GBS Romanian entities to prevent potential erroneous or deliberate misdirection of funds by managing the control navigator processes and by implementing and ensuring adherence to policies, proceduresMonitors legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislationEnsures and develops a good relationship with the team and perform Individual Performance reviews and development plans for the direct reports; builds and maintains a strong partnership with internal customers, provide technical support and advice to other departments.

What are we looking for?

At least 3-5 years of similar experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environmentUnderstand the impact of the accounting process and practice (IFRS and group reporting guidelines). Good knowledge of Management Accounting techniques in relation to Profit and Loss Statement and Balance SheetGood knowledge of Romania’s Accounting & Tax LawBusiness Partnering skills and an ability to apply a commercial approach to all activitiesExcellent analytical and numerical skills, detail oriented. An eye for detail to understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and dataProactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervisionCreating & maintaining a sound control environment within Finance function & across the business.Fluency in both written and spoken English
