DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Statistician 1, you will work with birth, death, and Healthy People data for the Division of Health Informatics. You will be responsible for assisting with the creation of the state, county, and municipality level datasets for use in the department’s web-based data dissemination systems. Work involves tracking state and county progress, collecting and accessing current and historical statewide and local data from various department sources, calculating health statistics, and creating final output in electronic files for publishing findings on the web. You will have the opportunity to perform computations and analyses of data using statistical formulas including methods such as cross-tabulations, adjusted rates, significance testing, synthetic estimates, standard errors, time series, frequency distributions, and confidence intervals using SAS software, calculator, and spreadsheet software on PC.
