Stationary Engineer
UPMC
Are you ready to keep the heart of our facility running?
We’re looking for a skilled and safety-minded Stationary Engineer to take charge of our critical systems during weekend afternoon or evening shifts. If you thrive in a hands-on environment, enjoy solving mechanical puzzles, and take pride in keeping operations smooth and efficient—this role is for you.
Step into a position where your expertise powers the entire facility. From boilers and chillers to HVAC and automation systems, you’ll be the go-to pro ensuring everything runs like clockwork!
Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and related building infrastructure. Maintain a valid Class A Stationary Engineer’s license (City of Pittsburgh) and a current PA driver’s license. Conduct chemical analysis and treatment of steam, condensate, and water systems. Maintain detailed logs and reports (e.g., temperature, boiler, chemical, fire pump, and alarm logs). Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and piping systems. Troubleshoot and repair equipment including pumps, fans, motors, pneumatics, and patient care devices. Operate the Siemens Building Automation System and respond to system alerts or failures. Collaborate with other maintenance teams (e.g., electrical, carpentry, refrigeration) to resolve issues. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and hospital policies. Participate in emergency response efforts and mandatory training sessions. Recommend improvements to procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality, communication, and customer service.
