Primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St Paul.** _Internal candidates should contact the Human Resources Representative listed on the job posting with questions._ The primary activity of this position will be engaging in informal mediation and dispute resolution services for matters between homeowners and homeowner associations. The position will also involve: + Working with our Communications Division to create and maintain a webpage to assist homeowners and associations with understanding the rights each possess under Chapter 515B and governing association documents. + Creating plain language explanations of common provisions in governing documents of a Common Interest Community (CIC). + Providing reports and recommendations to legislative committees. _Per Minn. Stat. § 45.0137. the ombudsperson may not be a unit owner, be employed by a business entity that provides management or consulting services to an association or otherwise be affiliated with an association or management company of Common Interest Communities._ **Minimum Qualifications** Three (3) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgement, and relying on knowledge in: + Mediation or dispute resolution experience; and + Reading and interpreting complex documents. _A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, English or related field is equivalent to one (1) year of experience._ Applicants who meet the above experience will be further evaluated based on the following: + One (1) year of experience in matters involving real estate. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to prepare professional reports and convey information clearly to diverse audiences. + Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. **Preferred Qualifications** + Certification related to mediation or dispute resolution. + Prior experience with Common Interest Communities. + Juris Doctor degree. **Physical Requirements** Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer. **Additional Requirements** Job offer is contingent upon passing reference checks to verify job-related credentials, a criminal background check and drivers' license check prior to appointment.
