In this role you will play a critical role in the Records Division to process death reports for all MSRS administered Plans, process annual disability reviews, audit 'transfer to survivor' transactions, and provide back up to monthly annuity processing. This position also provides work leadership to the Records Division team, including prioritizing tasks, problem resolution and allocation of work.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
+ Coordinate all annuitant, active participant, MNDCP, SRHC and HCSP death information.
+ Perform annual disability medical reviews for over 700 MSRS disabilitants.
+ Provide leadership and work direction with respect to workflow, accomplishing tasks and facilitation of learning.

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience* reviewing benefit claims or experience providing complex administrative support duties.
*An Associates degree in Business Administration, Communications, or other closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute six (6) months of experience; A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
**Experience must demonstrate the following:**
+ Knowledge of best practices in customer service for addressing applicant inquiries and issues.
+ Ability to understand and explain complex regulations and requirements to applicants.
+ Ability to update information in digital systems accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and application of percentages.
+ Highly organized to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
**Preferred qualifications**
+ Knowledge of standard operating procedures for reviewing and processing claims.
+ Knowledge of data protection laws (e.g., HIPAA) and the handling of sensitive applicant information.
+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material with discretion.
+ Ability to handle frequent interruptions and be flexible in responding to changes in work assignments.
