Stars Category Manager ; Procurement Professional

 The Stars Category Manager/ Procurement Professional 3 is responsible for generating and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies and optimizing Humana’s Procurement strategy for member clinical and quality of care related services. This role focuses on driving value and efficiency across strategic Stars Services Supplier relationships, delivering business outcomes that align with Humana’s broader strategy. Leveraging deep category expertise and market insights, this individual will collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure multi-year agreements, establish clear performance metrics, and ensure alignment with Humana’s business objectives.

The selected candidate will build relationships with suppliers and senior business stakeholders, working cross-functionally to proactively identify value creation opportunities, innovative solutions, and continuous improvement, thereby enabling business strategies for the enterprise. The Stars Services Category Manager will report directly to the Director of Healthcare Services and Associate Benefit & Wellness Services in Enterprise Procurement and Supplier Management.

Strategic Supplier Partner Optimization

Develop and execute procurement strategies for preferred strategic supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with Humana’s top Stars and Clinical objectives.Structure and negotiate multi-year agreements, incorporating preferred commercial terms to drive cost efficiencies and accountability.

Category Management Execution

Lead the end-to-end RFP and negotiation process, maximizing value creation while mitigating financial and operational risks.Ensure supplier contracts are structured to enforce supplier accountability, performance transparency, and continuous improvement.Analyze spend data, total cost of ownership (TCO), and market trends to drive informed procurement decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance

Function as the supply and sourcing relationship champion, leading a supply sourcing council ensuring seamless integration with procurement strategies and Humana’s business objectives with Finance and other business segments.Develop and implement procurement governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degreeMinimum of 2 or more years of previous Procurement experienceDemonstrated communication, negotiation, financial acumen, and analytical skills.Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint), Sourcing and Contracting tools, PowerBi or similar reporting toolsDemonstrated experience managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, with the ability to transfer applicable experience learned into new processes and maintain flexibility in job focus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in outsourcing healthcare-related services.Previous experience collaborating and working with broader Leadership

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$78,400 - $107,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
