In this position...
Work through the process of taking sheet metal (Steel & Aluminum) from early FEAS to running at rate in the stamping plants.
This includes early transfer studies for FEAS, working with processing and die design groups to create Automation Start Package for die design, die checks to ensure proper clearance, follow automation through design and build phases, perform simulations for the creation of curve profiles and output files for download to the press, support in person launch with automation and curves until running at rate.
Support plants with die/automation relocation and insource actions along with emergency offloads in the event of a press breakdown.
You'll have...
Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in similar field. Min of 1-3 years' experience in CATIA/NX or Press Programming. Strong communication and organizational skills. Understands Energy Control and Power Lockout and risk assessment process in equipment design and operation. Must have strong Project Management skills and be able to lead suppliers, plant personnel and engineering team members to achieve targets and goals. Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically. Understanding of stamping feasibility, die process engineering, dies, presses, automation tooling & press/robot programming regarding part transferring. Understands robotics, servo motion control, machining, and fundamental metallurgical properties of materials used in machine design. Understands High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) & Hot Stamping equipment and process. Understanding of Hydraulic and pneumatic controls and operation preferred. Understanding of Human Centered Design. Problem solving skills using statistics and problem-solving methodologies (6 Sigma, FMEA, 8D). Willingness to travel weekly to the multiple plant sites (US and Mexico)
