Staff VP Patient Access

Location:   May be located in any Elevance Health PulsePoint office preferably in Indianapolis, IN, Atlanta, GA, Mason, OH, Richmond, VA, Norfolk, VA or Woodland Hills, CA.This role requires associates to be in-office at least 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Summary

The Staff VP Patient Access leads a critical patent-facing department for Paragon Infusion centers. 

Team Scope

Oversee 150+ employees, including 9 direct reports.

Position Responsibilities

Process Optimization:

Identify opportunities for process improvements within Patient Access that enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Execute innovative strategies to streamline patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and financial counseling, ensuring the administrative pathway is as smooth and efficient as possible.

Operational Alignment:

Develop and align operational KPIs and performance readouts to monitor the effectiveness of patient access strategies.

Ensure that these metrics support overall organizational goals and contribute to the improvement of patient experience and access to care.

Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with various departments to develop comprehensive strategic plans that improve patient satisfaction and access to care.

Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of strategic initiatives and their impact on overall healthcare delivery.

Resource Management:

Ensure that staffing ratios are optimized and aligned with the organization’s Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to maintain a balance between cost efficiency and high-quality patient service.

Work closely with HR and department heads to recruit, train, and retain personnel who will contribute to a patient-centered service model.

Mission Alignment and Leadership:

Through leadership and innovation, contribute to the healthcare facility's mission of delivering high-quality care by making initial steps in the healthcare journey accessible and straightforward for patients.

Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care among all team members.

Position Requirements

Requires a BA/BS degree in business administration or a related field and a minimum of 10 + years of management experience in a call center/operations area in the managed care and/or insurance industry; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

Experience with medical benefits verification and prior authorization.

Understanding of Payor Policy requirements.

Prior experience in infusion center operations.

MBA preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $171,520.00 to $308,736.00.
