This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for the implementation and the administration of all virtualization and storage systems. You will lead the install and configuration of hosts and guests as well as perform software upgrades and maintenance. You are responsible for designing and implementing highly available virtualization and storage systems and resolving incidents in a timely manner. This position requires hands-on expertise in cloud technologies, infrastructure as code (IaC), and system reliability, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

+ Recommend optimized solutions to support current and long-term planning
+ Collaborate with other leaders in the selection and recommendation of tools and technologies to improve efficiencies ultimately increasing customer satisfaction.
+ Make architectural decisions to better the Paylocity infrastructure platform and supporting technologies
+ Plan and lead large, cross-functional projects as a technical lead, to ensure desired business outcomes are achieved.
+ Become the technical subject matter expert for the team at a technical and business data level
+ Take on a leading role on a major system design, architecture review board submissions, and defining standards throughout the infrastructure.
+ Be the face of large projects and implementations to the organization at large, addressing concerns and publishing internal communications.
+ Regularly mentor or coach multiple engineers via knowledge transfer processes
+ Make good, data-driven decisions around technical debt and tradeoffs
+ Continuously improve processes, such as reviewing change controls, and best practices for the team
+ Lead capacity planning efforts for both Physical and Virtual infrastructure components
+ Find ways to deliver requested scope faster, and tackles tech debt proactively
+ Participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hours work as needed
Education and Experience
+ BS in computer science, engineering, or related field
+ 5+ years’ experience in systems design and implementation in complex environments
+ Advanced proficiency with one or more scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
+ Advanced proficiency with an automation toolset such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform for the secure implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code within a source-controlled repository
+ Advanced knowledge /proficiency in networking, virtualization, storage networks, and related infrastructure limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Windows, Linux, and how they operate on a client/server network.
+ Expertise in VMware technologies (vSphere, vRealize, SRM, NSX)
+ Extensive knowledge of complex enterprise server and storage systems, preferably Cisco UCS and Pure Storage.
+ Experiencing designing SAN Fabrics on Cisco
+ Knowledge and experience with data protection platforms (Ex. Cohesity, Rubrik, Veeam, etc.)
+ Experience with Cloud technologies and infrastructure as well as operating in a hybrid on-prem/cloud environment
+ Must be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learn
+ Must have a strong sense of curiosity
+ Must commit to their role and take responsibility for their tasks
+ Must be able to work effectively in an agile and team environment
+ Must be effective and creative in problem solving

The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $205,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
