In this position...
Ford is seeking an experienced integration engineer who will be responsible for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) sub system device and feature development. This individual would ensure HVAC hardware and firmware is designed, implemented, and tested to meet Ford’s standards for safety and customer experience.

Ford is developing next generation integrated thermal systems that manage customer facing features such as the cabin climate, as well as the thermal needs of powertrain systems like the battery and power electronics. The thermal integration engineer will lead activities to select and introduce new hardware, create or refine new features and functionality, optimize performance and efficiency, as well as making the system robust and fault tolerant. It is expected that this engineer would master the details of the HVAC system by reviewing source code, root causing issues, and developing solutions to complex problems hands on in the lab or by performing in vehicle testing.

You'll have...
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to keep multiple projects moving forwards in parallel
• Thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts.
• Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked micro controllers and embedded software
• Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains
• Strong comprehension of embedded software development languages (C/C++)
• Experience with Python is desired
• Experience with CAN / LIN / Ethernet & associated software tools desired

Even better, you may have...
• Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
• Knowledge of thermal physics principles and fluid dynamics

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
