Role Summary In this position, you will be on the lead for the powertrain components of our future Drive Unit programs, coordinating design maturity and part lead times to support pre-production builds and SOP launch activities. Our unit programs have high visibility and compressed timing, creating a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be on the forefront of EV drive unit development. You will work directly with the product development team, and coordinate with the drive unit TPM and supply chain to achieve our goals. The opening can be filled in either our Plymouth, MI or our Irvine, CA facilities and reports directly to our Sr Manager of Technical Program Management for Drive Units and High Voltage Distribution. Responsibilities Responsible for product development deliverable tracking to milestones for all powertrain components (i.e. gear, castings, bearings, etc.) on a given unit program. Coordinate with engineers and supply chain to ensure lead times are aligned to deliver to pre-production builds. Track KPIs and escalate gaps to leadership when needed to recover timing and recommend decisions based on risk. Work with suppliers to find compression opportunities in their tooling & manufacturing lead times to solve issues. Develop technical expertise through support and involvement in preproduction drive unit builds to provide weekly status reports to the leadership team highlighting progress, top issues/risks, and next steps. Maintain accurate EBOMs (CATIA/ENOVIA) with coordination of CAD designer and BOM analyst to ensure downstream systems (below) are up to date and accurate to match configurations and variations of builds. PTM LaunchPad SAP Pilot Line build BOMs Document all changes through pre-production change management meeting and tracker to ensure alignment between TPM, Product Development, and Supply Chain. Generate BCM notification to cross cross-functional team in coordination with TPM direction. Track and manage component quantity to prevent build shortages and reduce scrap cost. Support pilot line team with appropriate build documentation. Write PSP's (work instructions), QUA's (quality inspection requests) for custom-built specific parts and measuring of parts for specific builds. Develop lessons learned process for pre-production build issues and work with TPM to communicate lessons learned to Product Development and Manufacturing. Support TPM in weekly meetings for critical suppliers to ensure parts on time for pre-production builds. Work with external suppliers to maintain project deliverables. Communicate and escalate priorities as required in a high pace environment with tight schedules. Integrate successfully with Powertrain and Vehicle program teams. Provide feedback to program management team for part delivery and budget compliance. Qualifications Preferred degree within mechanical/automotive engineering or business management. 2-3 years of experience related to automotive design, release, and/or production. Proven technical program management expertise in delivering new technologies and products, and in managing teams in matrix organizations and suppliers/customers across multiple locations. Prior experience in prototype/pre-production builds with high rate of change management. Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other common program management software’s. Understanding of Electric Powertrain Platforms. Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work and communicate effectively among cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and proactively in fast-paced environment. Dynamic attitude with desire to learn and expand your knowledge and capability. Pay Disclosure Salary Range California-Based Applicants: $154,000 – $192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
