Staff TA: Leading Change for Digital Transformation - College of Engineering - Integrated Innovation Institute

The 49-785 – Special Topics: Leading Change for Digital Transformation course is looking for a Teaching Assistant (TA) who can support the instructor for the duration of the Fall 2025 mini 1 semester. The time commitment is approximately 10 hours of work each week from Monday, August 18, 2025 through October 23, 2025. This is an hourly paid position through CMU. Current students and alumni are encouraged to apply. Anyone who is a non-U.S. citizen will also need to complete the ITA Language Certification before they can begin working as a TA. *In accordance with the pay transparency legislation set forth by California, the corresponding pay for this position, if placed in California, starts at $19.20/hour **Core Responsibilities:** + Assist the instructor in providing an effective learning experience for studentsenrolled in the course. + Attend all class meetings for one section each week, for the full duration of thesemester. + Arrive 10 minutes before class starts and stay at the end of class to check in withthe instructor before leaving. + Track student attendance and engagement in class discussions. + Manage course activity online in Canvas, including but not limited to supervising student submissions, helping to ensure appropriate structure, format, and best practices are followed in all submitted deliverables. + Review student drafts and final assignments, providing actionable, constructive feedback, notes, scores, and corrections as appropriate. Assist the instructor in the creation of quizzes on readings and other topics to review. + Hold office hours for 60 minutes per week to assist students as needed. + Clarify instructions for assignments to students, as needed, through office hours or email, or via Canvas discussion forums. + Meet with students and teams, as requested by the instructor, for the purpose of additional explanation and guidance on the assigned work. + There is some opportunity for TAs to teach limited topics covered in the course, ifdesired.
