We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.   

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and delivery of high-performance web applications with a strong focus on front-end technologies. They will bring deep expertise in React and modern JavaScript frameworks, with solid full-stack experience and an ability to architect scalable solutions. While the primary focus is web development, hands-on experience with mobile application development (native or cross-platform) is a plus. This role also involves mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver innovative solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and maintenance of scalable, high-performance web applications/SDKs using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3/SASS.

Architect and implement RESTful APIs and integrate them with front-end applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers, to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Drive code quality through code reviews, unit/UI testing, and adherence to development best practices.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Advocate for and implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and cloud deployments.

Occasionally contribute to mobile app development projects (Android, iOS, or cross-platform such as React Native/Flutter).

Stay updated with emerging technologies, including GenAI tools, and identify opportunities for innovation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

6+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR at least 4 years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) OR 2 years with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Mastery in Frontend Web Development with expertise in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3/SASS.

Proven experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

Familiarity with modern architecture patterns, including microservices and event-driven architecture.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GIT, and software delivery best practices.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with mobile application development (Android, iOS, or cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native).

Experience using GenAI tools in the SDLC for code generation, testing, or automation.

Exposure to SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase).

Familiarity with DevOps tools for infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, and security.

Experience working in payments, merchant data, or fintech domains.
