Job Description

Preferred Qualifications - 

You will identify and support all platform and user operations related to Visa Cloud Platform services (IaaS/PaaS/Container as a service)On a typical day, Engineer will be primarily responsible for solving platform user and reliability issues.You will apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions and dive deep into the root cause of an issue.You will partner closely with software and systems engineers across the organization to ensure services/systems are highly stable and performantCollaborate with other team members on managing end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services while working on individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverablesStrong communication skills with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detailsVisa Cloud SRE team has 24/7/365 operation model and work schedule will be required to work in shift or on call support modelThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or with an Advanced degree 5+ years’ experience in Application or Production Support group for high availability / critical platforms / applicationsHands on experience in Linux and Windows systems and good understanding of distributed computing environmentsKnowledge in networking technologies including DNS, TCP/IP, SSL and Load BalancingKnowledge in Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware, scvmm etc)Experience with container related technologies like Docker, KubernetesExperience with alerts and monitoring support (Grafana / Prometheus)Experience with scripting (Shell / PowerShell or Python scripting)Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including creating and running queries [MySQL and NOSQL]Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applicationsExperience of working with ITIL disciplines (Event, Incident, Problem, & Change)Have an urge to document all the things so you don't need to learn the same thing twiceHave an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude.
