Staff/Sr. Accountant (DOE)
Description A leading investment management firm is seeking a Staff or Senior Staff Accountant, depending on experience, to join its dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for managing accounts payable and supporting various accounting functions including month-end close and audits. The accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization. Key Responsibilities + Execute month-end financial reporting tasks related to accounts payable/receivable, expense management, fixed assets, and cash accounts. + Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations. + Maintain and monitor SOX controls to ensure compliance and document processes. + Enforce company policies related to expense reporting and capitalization. + Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls. + Support ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications + 2–3 years of operational accounting experience, preferably within investment or asset management. + Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience applying accounting standards. + Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks. + Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes and reconciliations. + Proficiency in accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, SAP Concur, or BILL.com. + Intermediate Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities. + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + Interest in leveraging AI tools or technologies in accounting workflows is a plus.
