About the Team and Project
This engineering team specializes in implementing open-source software, with a focus on Open edX. Open edX serves as a learning management system, content management platform, course authoring tool, and more. Our team’s goal is to implement the latest features from Open edX and develop reusable X Blocks for WGU’s internal use. We are seeking highly skilled engineers interested in advancing innovation in online education.

Experience: Technical Qualifications:
9+ years of professional experience in Python and Django, including building enterprise-grade applications.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (master’s preferred).
Front-end development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript libraries or frameworks (React preferred) for building dynamic and responsive web interfaces
Proven leadership in developing and scaling full-stack applications.
Experience with modern infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Docker, and containerization.
Expertise in authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0 and SAML, and experience in server-to-server integrations.
Strong relational database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as PY test.
Expertise
Proficiency in Git/GitHub, pipenv, and related development tools.
Experience integrating third-party platforms and building custom API endpoints.
Familiarity with open-source platforms like Open edX.
Location: This role is currently remote within México; the position will shift to a hybrid model once our Guadalajara office opens.
