**Job Description Summary** As a Staff Software Engineer at GE HealthCare, you will develop advanced software for Medical Ultrasound systems, focusing on General Imaging & Primary Care. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge innovations in a fast-paced, agile environment, supporting both Advanced Technology Development and New Product Introduction. **Job Description** Your responsibilities will include: + **Software Design & Implementation** : Design and implement software for GE Healthcare's Medical Ultrasound products, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality and performance. + **Full Software Development Lifecycle** : Engage across the entire software development lifecycle, including high-level and detailed design, implementation, verification (both automated and manual), and maintenance activities. + **Requirements & Specifications** : Author software requirements and design specifications, acting as a feature lead by managing scheduling, estimating efforts, and overseeing implementation. + **Testing & Verification** : Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to validate design and implementation throughout development cycles. + **Quality & Compliance** : Apply technical expertise to ensure the quality of design and implementation, including compliance with GE Healthcare’s Quality Management System. + **Agile Collaboration** : Collaborate with project team members using the Agile Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software solutions. + **Mentorship** : Mentor and guide other engineers on the team, promoting the development of high-quality software using static analysis tools, design reviews, and code reviews. + **Technical Leadership** : Provide technical decision-making and guidance for the Scrum team. Understand and assess application performance to ensure optimal outcomes. + **Communication** : Proactively share information across the team, ensuring it reaches the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness. **Key Responsibilities** + **Software Development** : Design, implement, and maintain high-performance software using C++. + **Lifecycle Engagement** : Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle. + **Technical Leadership** : Lead feature development, mentor team members, and drive engineering best practices. + **Testing & Quality** : Develop and execute unit/integration/system tests; ensure compliance with GE’s Quality Management System. + **Agile Collaboration** : Work within Scrum teams to deliver robust solutions. + **Performance Optimization** : Ensure software reliability and performance through advanced algorithm techniques. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, CS, or related field. + 8+ years of professional software engineering experience. + Strong C++ skills and knowledge of object-oriented design and software patterns. **Preferred Skills & Experience** + Experience with **CUDA** , **HLSL (DirectX)** , and **GPGPU programming** in image processing. + Familiarity with **medical device standards** and **regulated SDLC** . + Proficiency in **Agile methodologies** , **software configuration tools** (Perforce, Git), and **test frameworks** . + Prior experience in **medical ultrasound software development** is a plus. + Willingness to workonsite at least 3 days/weekin Waukesha/Wauwatosa, WI.
