We're looking for a seasoned Software Engineering Lead who brings broad expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for delivering high-quality code. Your leadership will empower a talented team of developers to create scalable, resilient software that is essential to the manufacturing process, utilizing modern engineering practices.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Strategic Technical Leadership
Develop and communicate a clear technical vision aligned with business goals, translating that vision into actionable roadmaps for the team. Advise senior management on technology and forward-looking strategies, championing enterprise-wide engineering standards and best practices that foster consistency, maintainability, and long-term scalability. Proactively evaluate new technologies and drive strategic innovation initiatives that enhance system capabilities and team productivity.Java & Engineering Excellence
Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications with a focus on Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. Ensure that all development work adheres to best practices for software craftsmanship, including SOLID principles, TDD, and clean architecture. Drive consistency and code reuse through the use of shared libraries, utilities, and component-based development.Modern Technology Stack
Spearhead the adoption of modern infrastructure and deployment strategies using Quarkus Docker, and Kubernetes within a RedHat Open Shift environment Create and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment using tools like GitHub Actions Ensure the security, reliability, and observability of applications through logging, monitoring, and incident response planning.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating complex technical topics into business-relevant insights and recommendations. Propose new technologies that will innovate the way the business works and define architectural approaches, pragmatic solutions, and best practices for the organization. Actively participate in organizational planning, talent development, and cross-team knowledge sharing to uplift the broader engineering organization.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field10+ years of software engineering experience with a heavy focus on Java3–5 years in technical leadership or architecture roleHands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, microservices, and design patternsProficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), automated testing, and agile methodologiesDeep understanding of software engineering principles and modern system designStrong debugging and optimization skillsPeople Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
3+ years experience in Kubernetes/Docker, Quarkus, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP3+ years experience working with complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures3+ years experience working in a SCRUM development methodology
