Staff Software Engineer, Google Home
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. + 8 years of experience in software development. + 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products. + 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: + Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. + 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. + 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. + 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it. + Define and drive technical execution and influence strategy working with serving infrastructure and intelligence teams. + Drive the design, architecture, implementation, and optimization of core functionalities across the voice serving stack, architecting solutions for complex challenges in areas like query understanding, intent generation, response planning, and fulfillment for both voice and other modalities for Agentic flows. + Define and Lead Technical Roadmaps, mentor and Cultivate Excellence and work closely with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, intelligence, platform, and experience teams, to ensure alignment.
