The Data & Audience organization is at the forefront of developing and maintaining frameworks, tools, and high quality data products vital to WBD, including flagship streaming product Max and non-streaming products such as Films Group, Sports, News and overall WBD eco-system. **Roles & Responsibilities:**
Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) is is looking to hire a full-time Staff Software Engineer to join our Data Quality team. In this role, you'll play a key part in helping our partners define how data drives business impact, evaluate data reliability, and deliver solutions to validate and monitor data quality at scale. You'll apply advanced software engineering techniques to address complex, data-centric problems and develop automated solutions. As a technical leader on the team, you’ll drive initiatives to expand and evolve our data quality capabilities, harness cutting-edge technologies to build robust automation tools, and shape the strategic direction for empowering both Data Producers and Consumers across the organization.
· Data Quality Engineering: Successful track record of instrumenting tools, automation, and processes at scale for frontend and backend Quality engineering activities
· Automation: Architect and implement robust automation framework for end-to-end data validation and monitoring for critical customer facing applications across Web, Mobile, and Connected TV platforms.
· Data Validation and Testing: Expertise in validating data quality, integrity, and consistency across different datasets.
· Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Apache Spark, and distributed computing environments.
· Leadership: Collaborative Leader who helps other engineers and team members to be more productive, sharing knowledge and guides direction for key technical decisions. Provide mentoring to other engineers.
· Growth oriented: Participate in the growth of the Data Quality practice by sharing knowledge and lessons learned, continually improving best practices, and contributing to methods that will systematically advance workforce capabilities
· Effective Communicator: Effectively communicate through technical documentation, commented code, and interactions with stakeholders and adjacent teams
· Culture Driven: Contribute to building a vibrant workplace, where teams can thrive, and model the organization’s positive, supportive culture of respect and excellence
**What to Bring:**
· 8+ years of hands-on software and quality engineering experience focused on designing and implementing Automation solutions to perform Data Validation at scale
· Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, Scala or R
· Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data in various types of databases (relational and non-relational).
· Experience working with streaming data platforms (Kafka, Kinesis) and distributed data frameworks (Spark, Flink).
· Experience working with cloud data warehouses like Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
· Experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
· Expertise in automation testing for responsive web apps, mobile apps (iOS/Android), Connected TV platforms (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV).
· Experience with automation tools like Selenium, Appium and CICD systems like Jenkins, Github Actions, Gitlab CI
· Familiarity with real-world ML systems (configuration, data collection, data verification, feature extraction, resource and process management, analytics, training, serving, validation, experimentation, monitoring).
· Familiarity with Gen AI based test automation, models, processes and tools
· In-depth knowledge and understanding of standard quality best practices, techniques and methodologies to drive continuous quality improvements
· Ability to take a project from scoping the requirements, designing the framework and building the test cases
