Discover a workplace where your talents thrive, and your contributions make a lasting difference. **Job Description:** Verdantas is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Scientist to assist with the desktop review of environmental chemistry data and the preparation of data validation reports. This position is based in Tampa, FL, and is considered M-F, 8-5. Responsibilities: + Review of soil, water, and air data generated by commercial laboratories to ensure FDEP, EPA, and/or Department of Defense reporting requirements are met + Review and interpretation of field and laboratory QC results, including blank results, laboratory control samples, laboratory instrument calibrations, and instrument chromatograms + Collaboration with field teams, laboratory analysts, and clients to resolve data quality issues + Management of environmental data and laboratory results via Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access; apply validation qualifier flags to results as needed + Recalculation of laboratory results as needed using raw instrument data and unit conversions + Writing and preparation of data validation reports and data usability summary reports + Assistance with other environmental assessment and remediation projects as needed Qualifications: + 0-4 years’ work experience + Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline + Laboratory experience (classroom or previous employment) required; experience in a NELAC-certified environmental laboratory preferred; experience with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry preferred + Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (including filtering/sorting data, pivot tables, lookup functions, and conditional formatting) + Familiarity with EPA analytical methods and environmental sampling; previous experience in environmental consulting (soil, water, air sampling) preferred + Strong technical writing skills + Experience with database management, Microsoft Access and programming skills is a plus **Salary Range** 50,000 - 55,000 **Benefits:** + Flexible Work Environment + Paid Parental Leave + Medical + Dental + Vision + Life and AD&D Insurance + Short-Term and Long-Term Disability + 401(k) with Company Match + Paid Time Off + Holidays _Verdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
