Your Role:
Tenable Research is seeking a Staff Research Engineer - Decision Science Operations to join our diverse team of cybersecurity experts. In this role, you will be uniquely poised to provide decision science expertise to inform decision making for both individuals and teams through quantitative analysis techniques and the application of appropriate technologies augmenting human intelligence and analysis. You will have primary responsibility for identifying significant trends in the threat and vulnerability landscape and building operational workflows that prioritize research focus on the threats and trends most likely to impact Tenable customers.
This role combines innovation, analysis, and action to steer interdisciplinary initiatives focused on enhancing our contextual intelligence and overall exposure management support for research teams and the Tenable platform. The Staff Research Engineer will provide strategic guidance to improve data-driven operational capabilities. We seek a proactive and collaborative individual who is passionate and curious about utilizing data to propel platform and brand value throughout the Research organization and across the Tenable platform. You will specifically focus on identifying indicators within a diverse collection of datasets, and advancing data-driven processes across the Tenable Research organization.
Your Opportunity:
Partner with Director of Research Security Response to establish and execute data-driven processes for development prioritization Work with research and product teams to establish and execute strategy for delivering increased contextual intelligence for identified vulnerabilities Work with product operations team to develop and execute strategy around in-product measurement of research contributions across the portfolio Work with PMs, Engineering, and business stakeholders to facilitate messaging strategies Synthesize and communicate insights on emergent threats and vulnerabilities and add to appropriate team backlog Provide timely insights and analytical support to a broad set of internal stakeholders to support effective business and product decision-making Experiment with new technologies in order to gather insights, test hypotheses, and establish a standard of learning and feedback to drive product decisions Identify opportunities to improve customer in-product experience based upon metrics and insightsWhat You'll Need:
BS with 8+ years of experience or Masters degree or higher with equivalent practical experience in one or more of the following areas: Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline Strong analytical skills and experience with data analytics platforms and business intelligence systems such as Tableau Experience with Python/iPython/Jupyter Notebooks Ability to gather business insights and identification of trends from data, aggregated from various sources Strong communication skills with the ability to manage across highly distributed teams Ability to operate effectively in an environment using agile methodologies Ability to get in the weeds with technical implementation requirements for vendor integrations and enhancements Ability to work on multiple efforts simultaneously, prioritize conflicting demands, and set expectations accordingly with internal stakeholders Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience with Structured Analytic Techniques and statistical concepts is a plus#LI-Hybrid
