Job Summary:
Lenovo is seeking a highly skilled Staff ODM Supplier Quality Engineer to be based in Batam, Indonesia, serving as the key representative to oversee and ensure the quality of our ODM/EMS partners' production processes. This role demands deep expertise in electronic assembly line processes, and a strong ability to drive quality improvements, resolve production issues, and uphold Lenovo’s global standards.
What you will be doing:
Conduct systematic and regular audits of ODM/EMS partners to evaluate and improve their manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with Lenovo’s quality standards. Act as Lenovo’s on-site quality representative, monitoring supplier production lines and driving corrective actions. Standardize and synchronize global quality processes and procedures across ODM/EMS sites. Develop and implement inspection and testing protocols for raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to meet internal and external regulatory requirements. Lead resolution of quality issues during mass production, ensuring swift and effective closure. Support new product introductions and mass production transfers from overseas, including setup and review of manufacturing quality KPIs. Drive ODM/EMS partners to resolve issues related to carrier audits, out-of-box (OOB) inspections, and customer claims, acting as the internal end-to-end owner. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing quality control capabilities. Facilitate communication and resolve conflicts among global sites, EMS, and ODM partners.What we are looking:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum 5 years of experience in the smartphone industry, with a strong background in manufacturing, operations, or quality management. Proven experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment. In-depth knowledge of supply chain activities, including SMT, Assembly, IE, Testing, NPI, and Quality (experience in at least 3 areas required; SMT experience preferred). Strong foundation in Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with solid statistical knowledge. Demonstrated ability to assess risks and make sound decisions in dynamic environments. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Fluent in English (spoken and written); Mandarin proficiency is a plus. High integrity, accountability, and transparency in professional conduct.
