**Job Summary/Description:**
Polaris is seeking a Staff Motion Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic, growing, and fast-paced Vehicle, Electronics, and Software (VES) organization. As a Staff Motion Control Systems Engineer, you will be a pivotal member and leader of our team; setting strategic direction, coordinating project responsibility, and leading design, development, and calibration work for our Motion Control Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
· Lead motion controls strategic direction and coordinate with strategic leaders in other control system domains (body, dynamics, displays, etc.) on a unified company controls strategy.
· Lead and coordinate motion controller lead engineers in effectively executing existing and new projects for motion controllers.
· Collaborate with project leads and business unit partners on resource planning for new program support.
· Coordinate management of software calibrations across multiple vehicle systems.
· Collaborate with external suppliers and program management to ensure the technical deliverables and milestones of the supplier are completed as required.
· Translate system-level requirements into detailed software and hardware specifications for embedded systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and system constraints.
· Lead cross-functional initiatives with internal teams to ensure ECU features and vehicle functionality are compatible.
· Support prototyping efforts to explore and validate new technologies and innovative controls solutions.
· Ensure the overall technical execution of ECUs and control systems meets vehicle performance expectations.
· Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
· Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the ECU development/deployment process.
· Engage with upstream stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities for ECU platforming and feature reuse across the product portfolio.
· Other duties as required.
**Education, Skills and Knowledge:**
· B.S. or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering required.
· M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering desired.
· 8+ years of professional experience with previous industry experience as a full-time employee or contractor desired.
· Experience leading strategic decisions and providing strategic direction for a team of engineers desired.
· Experience leading design and/or implementation of embedded controls required; experience related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication strongly preferred.
· Experience writing and reviewing technical requirements within a formal requirements management tool strongly preferred.
· Experience with calibration of software modules and/or control systems required.
· Experience with software and/or hardware validation and verification efforts including MIL/SIL/HIL, other low-level software verification, and related documentation required.
· Experience with communication networks required; with vehicle communication networks such as CAN, J1939, and UDS strongly preferred.
· Experience with vehicle architectures that include ECUs such as a CAN Gateway, Vehicle Control Modules, Telematics and connected vehicle controllers, over-the-air reflash and multi-CAN-bus electrical systems strongly desired.
· Experience with Control System DFMEA and functional safety required.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment required.
· Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting required.

**The starting pay range for Minnesota is $116,000 to $140,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.**
