Staff Label Designer
Stryker is seeking a **Staff Label Designer** in **Portage, MI** to support our **Instruments Division** ! In this role, you will develop and maintain labeling for complex medical devices while collaborating with product experts to gather and standardize content across global markets. You’ll create and manage label formats using specialized software, ensuring clarity for hospital and healthcare professionals. All labeling must comply with medical device regulations, industry standards, and internal business requirement **What you will do:** + Lead best practices in global label design and ensure compliance with international labeling standards and regulations. + Collaborate cross-functionally with Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, Packaging, Marketing, and other SMEs to define label content and requirements. + Create and maintain labels using specialized software, including desktop publishing tools and print-on-demand systems. + Design user-friendly labels for global healthcare professionals, ensuring barcode verification and regulatory compliance. + Support multiple complex projects, including new products, acquisitions, and label updates. + Select appropriate label materials in collaboration with packaging engineers. + Manage label content and revisions in PLM/CMS systems. + Review and approve labels for accuracy, completeness, and visual clarity. + Partner with global teams (e.g., Technical Publications) to drive process improvements and consistency. + Participate in strategic initiatives, innovation efforts, and continuous improvement projects. + Support labeling-related audits, regulatory documentation reviews, and CAPA activities as needed. + Provide input on label translation strategies and collaborate with external suppliers when necessary. **What you need:** Required: + Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of related experience, or a high school diploma with 6+ years of professional experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred: + Strong understanding of labeling principles, including regulatory requirements for medical devices or pharmaceuticals. + Proficient in applying advanced labeling concepts and technologies. + Experience with label management systems (e.g., Prisym) and enterprise content management systems (CMS). + Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and label design for multilingual/global markets. + Understanding of how translation impacts label formatting and usability. + Experience collaborating with external suppliers and cross-functional teams.
