Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Investments Accountant to join our team in Emeryville, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounting processes and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial accuracy and operational efficiency within the financial services industry. Responsibilities: + Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reports related to investments and loss reserves, including issue and variance follow-up. + Reconcile investment and reserve data across internal systems and custodian reports. + Compile and present monthly investment activity summaries to internal stakeholders. + Coordinate with relevant departments during monthly and quarterly financial reporting. + Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records through regular monitoring. + Provide footnote documentation for external financial reports. + Support both internal and external audit requests and inquiries. + Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures. + Maintain and update standard operating procedures and documentation. + Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Model Audit Rule (MAR 205) compliance documentation. + Handle additional tasks and special projects as assigned. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent experience. + At least 3 years of accounting experience preferred; public company or public accounting background is a plus. + Familiarity with enterprise and general ledger systems. + Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and organizational skills. + Effective communicator with excellent written, verbal, and listening abilities. + Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and strong decision-making skills. + Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced level). + Skilled in managing financial processes, implementing controls, and driving improvements. + Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
