Position Title:    Staff Engineer

Job Description:

Plan and recommend DevSecOps platform roadmaps and best practices based on the business and IT needs. Guide the business and IT on technical and functional alternatives for DevSecOps platforms by clearly articulating and documenting the implications of each, short and long term, solution in a technical document. Design, develop, and modify DevSecOps platforms, DevSecOps controls, and subsequent monitoring and governance of their implementation. Participate in business and platform planning sessions and anticipate future business and technical changes, limitations, and strategies. Identify and communicate business, application, and technical risks associated with component or platform implementation at the technical level and enterprise level with Enterprise Architect. Work with Enterprise and Platform Architects to ensure technical and feature requirements are considered during technical design. Work with the Solution Assurance leads to communicate the platform strategy and vision and facilitate platform review meetings with the platform stakeholders. Develop analysis and monitoring tools to evaluate existing and future business needs for performance, availability, and compatibility and SLA with TJX standards and vision. Responsible for ownership of DevSecOps platforms, and related roadmaps and technology lifecycle management in the supported delivery teams. Develop and maintain key metrics for DevSecOps platforms and stream standard DORA metrics into enterprise dashboarding tools to provide quality of service measures and utilize them for continuous improvement of platforms. Ensure the DevSecOps platforms are continuously updated, upgraded, and meet the SLA for any security vulnerability remediations to meet the standards for TJX. Lead all the integrations of DevSecOps platforms with all the required enterprise tools utilized in TJX and ensure these integrations meet the performance, compliance, and security standards defined in TJX standards. Provide technical subject matter and insight related to the business applications in each technical domain. Fully own epics with decreasing guidance. Take initiative through identifying gaps and opportunities. Help onboard and mentor new hires. Mentor other engineers on the team. Support Talent Acquisition process by performing technical interviews for hiring. Learn DevOps practices. Act in Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance, and resolving issues. Lead discussions on design approaches to solving visible, strategic, and complex business problems. Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley compliance and all TJX Company standards as applicable. Lead evaluation of 3rd party engagement need and SOW review process. Identify emerging technologies for consideration for new technology direction and implements proof of concepts to prove the new technology. Position is fixed based in Marlborough office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be allowed.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any field) or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of IT experience. Experience must include:

Four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Designing, implementing, and administering source control management (GitHub), CI (Jenkins, ADO, Git Actions), CD (Ansible Tower, Jenkins, Git Actions, ADO), pipelines, artifacts, change management (ServiceNow) and associated toolsDesigning, implementing DORA metrics, alerts, and dashboardsTraining IT product delivery teams on accurate use of DevOps tools and capabilitiesConsulting product teams and mentoring junior engineersSAFe, Agile, and Agile delivery spaceExperience in at least one of the following Scripting languages: Groovy, PowerShell, or BashConsuming and automating APIs for purposes of integration and configurationExperience in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, Perl, SQL, JavaScript, shell scripting, or NodeJSUnix and Linux as a DevOps environmentDevOps practices, patterns and mindset and applying these skills for platformsSetting up security controls to maintain secure platformsTechnical designing of platform and application monitoring platformsLead on multiple platform projects

Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Data analytics for platform and application monitoring platformsDockerOracle and MySQL

Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

CICD Platform Architecture and design

Will also accept a Master’s degree plus four (4) years of IT experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus five (7) years of experience.
