**Staff Engineer, Supplier Development** _Work Mode: Hybrid_ **Location: ** ENTER [Work Mode] – [City], [State] or [Country] **Opportunity** Provide comprehensive purchased product Quality support to global purchasing teams. Completes professional engineering assignments of moderately broad scope. Executes projects by using off-the-shelf (existing and within the same industry) technology with minimum guidance. Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking including risk/reward ratios and critical pathing. Mindful of business impact. As part of a team, demonstrates and acts on innovative traits (curiosity, continuous questioning, open mind, and investigative). **SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES** + Conduct factory audits of potential suppliers, track key quality issues and drive recordable improvements based on results + Monitor supplier in-process quality assurance, setup process control plan and quality plans + Identify and correct on-going supplier quality problems through systematic analysis and subsequent recommendations to improve their product quality + Monitor and communicate supplier response and follow-up activities on any non-conforming products including investigation, sorting, analysis, disposition, deviation and corrective action + Work with Global teams and suppliers to develop the appropriate levels of quality plans. + Monitoring supplier products and processes to ensure on-going quality + Prepare & review in-process quality standards, methods and procedures for existing products + Publish updates for NPD vanity projects and supplier development activities + Track supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) process, including the determination of requirements and assurance of on-time completion + Own the Quality portion of the Supplier Scorecard for assigned suppliers. Monitor monthly performance and take ownership of results including initiating appropriate corrective actions and assisting suppliers as necessary + Identify and pursue opportunities for supplier development in quality systems, products, and processes. Utilize proven methodologies such as ISO, SPC, Lean and Six Sigma to drive recordable improvements in quality, cost and delivery + Manage supplier quality inspector team to ensure product quality met Kohler requirements **Skills/Requirements** **EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS** Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering required; advanced Degree is preferred. **EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS** 5 years of previous quality and engineering experience with an international organization.
