Staff Engineer, Reliability and Innovation

What You Will Do

Identify, assess, and implement innovative technologies to optimize and modernize manufacturing processes.

Lead projects focused on the replacement of aging assets to ensure plant reliability and operational continuity.

Develop and execute modernization strategies with minimal disruption to existing production lines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering—to drive process improvements.

Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform continuous improvement initiatives.

Build strong business cases for new technology adoption, including cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analysis.

Support the integration of automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing tools into production environments.

Lead technical teams in solving complex manufacturing challenges while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

What You Need

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

5–7 years of experience in manufacturing and operations environments.

Demonstrated hands-on technical experience on the production floor (not only administrative or project roles).

Proven experience in fixture design, development, and implementation.

Strong background in process improvement methodologies with real-world application.

Proficiency in reading and developing technical drawings using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (data-driven process improvement), or other continuous improvement tools.

Proficiency in data analysis, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and root cause analysis.

Preferred:

Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace).

Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), or Project Management (PMP – Project Management Professional).

Ongoing education in automation, emerging technologies, or manufacturing innovation.

Experience with Industry 4.0 tools, including IoT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence), and digital manufacturing.

Strong project management skills with a history of leading cross-functional initiatives.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).

Ability to access and inspect production equipment in confined or elevated spaces as needed.

May require the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when working in specific areas of the plant.

Travel Percentage: 20%
