Position Summary:
This position will work within the global product transfer team supporting transfers within our supply base to reduce cost and optimize our network. This aligns with our overall strategy to maximize our manufacturing footprint in optimal cost regions, while delivering high quality supply.
To support these strategic projects, Product Transfer team needs a Staff Engineer. The engineer will participate in this journey and focus on executing assigned product transfer projects. In this role, the engineer will evolve in an international, highly professional environment with the mission to optimize the Stryker plant network by product transfer.
What you will do:
Develop knowledge and competency in all finishing process steps from the operations team and support knowledge transfer to our Stryker sister siteSupport process development at receiving site locationProvide engineering support for products and processes, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker product transfer/NPD procedures.To drive successful project implementation, you will collaborate closely with our partners in broader Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Supply Planning and Divisional Partners.Define process flow and layouts for process integration, while ensuring efficient supply chain, optimum process flow, employee safety and best utilization of floorspace as appropriate.Manage the definition and introduction of new or moved capital equipment within our supply base and support the associated URS/FS/RTM/EQ & Vendor communications.Participate in generation of PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, etc., associated with product transfers, to ensure quality of process and product.Provide training for manufacturing team members as needed.You employ project management best practice to reduce transfer time, whilst adhering to procedures, product costs and regulatory requirements.You enjoy working in a global, dynamic & results oriented team environment where flexibility is essential.All other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical & 4+ years of work experience. Relevant internship experience will be consideredYou have deep knowledge in manufacturing processes, process development, process optimization and project management.Experience with Equipment validation - URS/FS/RTM/EQ and vendor management experienceWork experience in medical device and/or biotech field, preferredManufacturing machining and general process development experience – Experience in furnace and coating processes desirableLooking for a self-starter able to find knowledge/become an SME based on own resources with minimal impact to day-to-day operationsThe ability to analyse complex situations, distil issues, develop insights, challenge the status quo, and synthesize recommendationsYou are a self-driven and open-minded communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. As a team player, you can collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Strong technical ability to develop and optimize designs for mechanical assemblies incorporating DFM principlesStrong technical ability in creating engineering drawings, models, applying GD&TAdept at applying knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design and transferAbility to communicate moderate complexity plans and technical information to team members.#IJ
