Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Staff Engineer, Packaging Engineering to join our team in Batu Kawan, Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge packaging solutions for our semiconductor products, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Lead the design and development of SMT Tooling and fixtures solutions for semiconductor productsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fixtures and solutions into product development processes and manufacturing.To manage tool inventory and database by maintaining an accurate inventory recipe, database and documentation.Perform Tooling  Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) checks and establish tooling design rules for factory toolingAnalyze commonalities tooling design, processes, and materials to facilitate effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all tools and equipment to minimize downtime and extend lifespan.Coordinate with internal departments to fulfil tool requests and ensure the availability of necessary equipment for production or projects.Participate in cost reduction projects and provide engineering support for factory emergency taskforcesContribute to the development of new packaging technologies and methodologies to improve product performance and reliabilityMentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the packaging engineering team

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's or Master  degree in Mechanical Engineering | Mechatronics  or a related field; advanced degree preferred5-7 years of experience in an engineering role tooling design or automation design within the semiconductor industry.

Preferred:

Proven expertise & skills in Tool Servicing, Tool Assembly, Tool Troubleshooting, and operating tooling fabrication.Advanced proficiency in Solidworks CAD software; knowledge of Solidworks or any simulation is a plusExcellent skills in Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysisHands-on experience with technical equipment and processes, including metrology and failure analysis techniquesIn-depth understanding of common materials used in the semiconductor industry and tooling  & fixtures design(e.g., metals, plastics, adhesives)Knowledge of mechanical commodity making processes, such as CNC milling, stamping, injection molding, and die casting, etcDemonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex engineering issues creatively and efficientlyFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations related to semiconductor packaging

Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiencesExcellent organizational and time management skillsCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsStrong background in, automation, product design, and process characterization is a plus.
