As an Electrical Integration and Development Engineer, you will be the technical leader responsible for the electrical integration, troubleshooting, and development of our prototype test assets and vehicles. You'll be the go-to person for resolving complex electrical issues, bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, and ensuring our vehicles meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop, and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles.
What you'll do...
+ Drive the electrical bring-up of prototype vehicles, ensuring seamless integration of all electrical systems and components
+ Spearhead vehicle-level issue diagnosis and triage, utilizing first principles of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues effectively
+ Collaborate with hardware, software, and integration engineers to design and release mitigation strategies and clear vehicle issue roadblocks
+ Lead electrical integration activities with manufacturing regarding all electrical architecture and systems integration workstreams, providing clear guidance and support to ensure a smooth production process
+ Create comprehensive release artifacts, diagrams, and documentation for platform electrical architectures for consumption by all cross-functional teams
+ Serve as single point of contact for electrical issues in vehicle, providing rapid response and expertise to resolve critical concerns impacting vehicle development
+ Coordinate with systems test teams to perform vehicle level testing and debugging, collecting and analyzing data and organizing cross-functional reviews
+ Lead ongoing product development while also applying lessons learned to inform and optimize the design of electrical systems for future vehicle programs
You'll have...
+ B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
+ 8+ years of experience working on complex electrical systems or electronics designs
+ Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
+ Proven experience in vehicle launch activities from prototype phase through mass production
+ Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains
+ Highly skilled in low voltage systems development, electric vehicle system architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planning
+ Experience with microprocessor-based system design and development
+ Familiarity with common communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet
+ Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
+ A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
Even better, you may have...
+ Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
+ Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, etc.)
+ Experience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA, etc.)
+ Experience with hardware development from concept through production launch in automotive or similar
+ Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
+ Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
